This year marks the 15th anniversary of Eddie Adams' Barnstorm Workshop, a tuition-free, merit-based program for 100 aspiring photographers. During the four-day workshop, attendees got to work intimately with some of the best photojournalists, photo editors, producers and experienced Nikon technical representatives in the field.

The students spent their days listening to speakers like: Washington Post shooter and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Williamson, legendary photographers Gordon Parks and Harry Benson, as well as Bergen County Record shooter Tom Franklin who took the now-historic image of firefighters hoisting an American flag at the site of the World Trade Center. At night, (and into the wee hours of the morn) students sat down for one-on-one portfolio reviews with the same editors and photographers who graciously gave their time for the workshop.

The pictures shot by students and team leaders on September 11 will be collected into a book to be published in the Spring of 2003 as a valentine to New York City. For an application to next year's workshop, visit the Eddie Adams site at www.eddieadams.com.
