For this project, I have traveled to Europe, Africa, China, Mongolia, Japan, New Zealand and Australia, and through the U.S., focusing on ethnic cultures. Although many of my subjects are near or beyond 100 years of age, my vision of this project has expanded to include others who have aged incredibly beyond their years due to circumstances–weather, war, work, disease, drug abuse, alcohol abuse or political oppression. I shot this project on film, scanned it on a drum scanner and retouched the images in Photoshop.  |
