Hubert
de Givenchy 1982 & Givenchy Red, 1990
Skrebneski often uses fabric to create the design of a photograph.
"It's the sculptor in me," he confesses. His intensely sculptural
photograph of a model wearing a red silk Givenchy gown calls to
mind the Winged Victory at the Louvre in Paris. "I did have the
Winged Victory in mind when I shot it," admits the photographer.
The image is paired with a portrait of Skrebneski's close friend,
Hubert de Givenchy, which also takes its design from the fabric
billowing above the fashion designer's head. |
